In 2010 we undertook a large-scale remodel of the kitchen, dining and living areas of our home. We moved out of our home for three months. David Scoggins of Pinnacle Custom Homes was our general contractor. He did an outstanding job for us. In fact, I don’t think we could have gotten through it without him and I know that our home would not look as beautiful as it does today without him. He was so insightful in seeing potential problems and correcting them before the work had gotten too far along. A case in point was our kitchen island. Because this was a remodel, the plumbing needed to be moved in our concrete slab. During the plumbing work, David realized that the island was going to end up one foot too far into our living area. This would have been disastrous. He caught the mistake early on and saved us money and a large headache!
David truly has an eye for design. Near the end of the project, we all realized that our old fireplace looked like a dinosaur sitting in our living room. David came up with the idea to sheetrock over the top of it and to lay travertine tile over the hearth. Our existing mantel was used, but was redesigned to fit the new look. I have to say that our fireplace is now a beautiful focal point of our living room rather than an eyesore.
David is very knowledgeable and professional. He was on-sight two to three times every day. He was in constant contact with us, keeping us abreast of the progress. He handled all communications with the sub-contractors, which was very helpful. When we questioned any of the work, we contacted him and he handled the issues with the sub-contractors.
We moved back into our home ten days ahead of schedule and absolutely love it. We both agree that the end result was worth all the work! I know that the project went so smoothly, was done ahead of schedule and on-budget because David was working with us and for us. He truly was our advocate.

We met David through his former client also living in Cimarron Hills–we were so impressed by that home that we couldn't wait to meet with David. At our first meeting together, we were sure he was our man. We began the first stage of the building process by meeting with his architect, who again had similar ideas, attitudes as David.

Having built several new homes in various parts of the country, I was not real excited about going through the process again, but I now reflect on my experience with Pinnacle Custom Homes and see it as a pleasurable experience. David Scoggins and his folks made the process transparent by the contracting method used.
Pinnacle made recommendations throughout the build which either saved money or improved the final product. No construction company is better than the sum of their subcontractors and it’s abilities to manage them to deliver their best performance on the job. Although my wife and I have no plans to move in the future, if we build again in Central Texas, we will build with Pinnacle!
